13 Jul 2020I drive a 2012 Nissan Versa Hatchback, the bigger one before they switched to the Versa Note style. It is a great car. If I get the chance, I'm going to sell it and buy an Escape like the one from your video. I like the taller clearance and ride height offered by the SUV, plus much more cargo room in the back. The Escape is going to chug more gasoline than my Versa does, but it's probably worth it. I'm trying to decide between the 2010 – 2012 Escape vs the 2012 Captiva. If anyone has compared them, I'd like to hear your comments.

13 Jul 2020I think I want to buy the newer one 🙂 🙂

13 Jul 2020By the way, loved the Utah comment… We live in Utah but drive to California often, so this will be a great vehicle from the sound of it

13 Jul 2020Hate reviving an old conversation, but I just bought one of these. Great video by the way. I had some bad luck, had to replace the engine ($2500)… But I agree it looks and drives nice. And it is very spacious

13 Jul 2020I'm getting it as my first car

13 Jul 2020The hybrid version of these are the way to go. Most of the taxi cabs that use the Escape are the hybrid and are known To go 350,000 miles or more. Ford used Toyota technology on the hybrid version. Also did you know when laying the rear seats down you’re supposed to pull the bottom seat out then flip it up BEFORE you lay the seat back down? When done this way the cargo floor will be practically flat.

13 Jul 2020I have 2010 ford escape 4cyl 2wd. For 4 years, i love my escape. I put more then 100,000 miles no big problem.

13 Jul 2020Got myself a cheap 2012 4cyl fwd a few weeks ago. Loving it so far! Feels big, good mileage, great interior. I love the body most of all. Most SUVs look the same, just crappy especially the newer Escapes. The 2nd gen that we see here nail it. 2012 is probably the best year to buy out of it.

13 Jul 2020Thanks for the video. The first thing that draws attention is that these are/were used as NY Taxis – these guys know their cars and so this is a 5* endorsement for longevity.
Second I had 3 sons all needing USA Driving licenses as we moved back here 2013. I let them pick and they liked this. Its a small compact SUV, can carry 4 no problem, can carry 2 dogs to the park, do most shopping runs, easy to drive, comfortable and has bluetooth but no GPS (you have a Smartphone)?
I have a Black on Black leather 2011 Escape Limited 4×2 V6. Bought in 2013 for $26000/15K miles ($2/3K too much) , now apparently worth $6000 trade in in TX with 65000 miles (more later). B . The V6 will give around 20-23 Mpg if driven smoothly , being 60 I don't thrash my cars ever, (rentals…mmm) . Had a leak on the A/C and a throttle body (ie Carburetor) failed -. Checked recalls, only Fuel delivery Flange Manufacturer Recall Number16S41NHTSA Recall Number16V777. No other recalls and no Airbag recall as mentioned below.
Agree with most of your video with a few comments. Vehicle is very comfortable, seats great (Better than my Jeep Grand Cherokee 2016). With a 3.0 L V6 this car can sprint to 60 in 8 seconds which is 1/2 a second slower than a 2020 Toyota 4 runner (bucket list) and 1 second slower than my V8 Jeep. My car is on OEM original Michelins, though now ready for replacement but 65,000 miles, no complaints.
Understand that this car is unique so study before you sell. When looking to sell it they offered me $5K then $6K (65,000 miles). Searching tonight (250 Miles around Houston TX) , the best shows a limited 2012 at $9500 with 100,000 miles (Autotrader..Cars.com had none) . Seems they did an upgrade in 2012 with an early model screen and sunroof. The car is rare for a reason. people keep them and dislike the newer Escapes.
Agree with you Rideshare ! This car is a cheap bargain. Not many are for sale. Mine is a low Miles. Classic Car ? no , but having a tough time finding something to replace it. Most reliable car since my Porsche but much cheaper on parts !

13 Jul 2020Actually you can only put 2 full size luggage in the trunk. But the price is awesome. I did own one for 9 years and I got it for $22,000 brand new. But super slow acceleration.

13 Jul 2020The rear window can be opened for long cargos like wood, skiis, single matress etc.

13 Jul 2020Nice ride, I have a 2012 Ford Escape dark grey 4 cylinder love it.

13 Jul 2020I actually owned one of them before (2009 mazda tribute), my dad’s old car, he ended up giving it to me after buying an RV. It was so broken down i didnt even get to drive it enough to empty the 1/4 gas tank he left in it, but whenever i drove it, it was fun. Just an easy car to drive and feels smaller than it is. Very practical, we were able to move a full house with only this truck, took lots of trip but everything was able to fit in the trunk. Now that im in the market for a car again im actually thinking of getting the same car, more recent, higher trim and turn it into an off-roader.

13 Jul 2020Up to 34mpg?? maybe the HYBRID model, but I highly doubt the 2WD or 4WD gets close to that. I'm between a 2WD or AWD 2011,… I know its not a major hit to the mpg, but I drive alot on the highway with roadtrips
Samantha Leisher
13 Jul 2020I have a 2011 steel blue. Sorry bud but ur wrong with the crash rates. The car actually failed the safety test. The roll over rate was very high.

13 Jul 2020Just bought a 2012 Escape XLT with 94,000 miles for $7,200. Been searching out videos such as this one to see what owners are saying about their longevity. Seems the 2WD with the 4 cylinder are the most reliable, many folks are getting over 200,000 miles without serious engine or transmission issues. The rear well wells do rust on these due to a design flaw, better than a mechanical flaw!

13 Jul 20204:34 he must live in a Utah border state 😛

13 Jul 2020It's loud because you need the flex pipe replaced. I have one and had the same issue.

13 Jul 2020I saw a 2011 for $8995, 63K miles. I was wondering what the defected parts of this car are.

13 Jul 2020I'm planning to buy this used 2011 Ford Escape XLT AT 4×2 8,000km. U$D7,000. Is that a good buy? And also, is this Euro 4 compliant? I'm from the Philippines.

13 Jul 2020I have the 2012 Ford Escape Limited fully loaded with the V6 in the gold leaf color. I love it.

13 Jul 2020The brakes are not great on this car, it has rear drums while most of its competition has 4 wheel disk. The 2.5L- I4 fuel economy was not the greatest, but it was a reliable engine. These fords have had a history of airbag problems and recalls, so make sure to get the most up to date recall at the dealer. Great looking through! Perfect for Uber if you get a 2wd version for added gas mileage savings.

13 Jul 2020I just buy the 2012 Ford Escape limit ! Really loved .

13 Jul 2020I was going to buy a black 2010 Ford Escape for $5,500 with 138,000 miles but it got snatched before I could buy :/ bought a 2010 silver Chevy equinox instead, which is another good option 👍
Mr. 2cents.
13 Jul 2020I love the Escape. Makes me happy to drive it. Want to get a Limited. Good stereo. The V6 has power and still is good on gas.
It makes me more happier though to drive the Kona Ultimate from Hyundai. Also AWD 1.6L turbo with 175HP and multi link rear Axel. Plus it has the Infinity sound system.

13 Jul 2020Hey great video! I drive a 2010 Ford Escape 4 cylinder, it has great gas mileage and power, one con I've read is the transmission, it jerks at times when downshifting and it kicks a bit when up shifting, have you had any issues with your transmission??
